I'm going to take some english classes at kirkwood this summer. I can only hope be taught by you or at least run into you. I can't wait to hear you play this summer! Peace.

It is so good to connect with you again after too long a time.

Jake Van Scoyoc - October 19, 2010, 3:02 pm
You have absolutely no way of remembering me but I thought I would drop you a line. I took an American Dreams class with you at Kirkwood about 10 years ago and I bought one of your CD's. I told you that I wanted to be a high school English teacher but I was a long way from that goal. I was going through my CD's the other day and I found a copy of People and Places and the cover said "Hopefully you can use this in your classroom someday." Today I played "Raisin Bran" for my creative writing class and they got a kick out of it. I hope things are going well for you and I'd love to see you play again. I got a chance to see you at the Long Branch in Marion a while back but I was working and I didn't get to sit down and appreciate anything. I've been teaching English at East Buchanan for 5 years now and I just took up the guitar about a year ago.
Take care,

Hey, Chrys! I'll call, too, but wanted to be sure you knew the date of the annual bash: June 26th (Same bat time, same bat channel). Hope you can make it! Miss you...

appreciate your special talents

William A. Lester - February 6, 2009, 8:20 pm
Yo, Chrys...this is Bill Lester from Manchester. Hope things are going well for you. I am hosting a "Hootenanny" fund raiser for our local food bank (Delaware County Food Pantry)on Friday, Feb. 27th, 7 pm, at the Coffee Den in Manchester. I am recruiting area musicians to perform 3 or 4 songs each to help raise the funds. Would you like to "donate" a few songs that night. Also, I am recruiting for my 3rd Open Mic at the Cedar Lodge Steakhouse in Manchester to be held on March 29th at 8pm. I'd like to invite you to that as well. Please let me know if either of those dates work for you.
Thanks, Bill Lester

What a pleasant surprise it was to find your cd at Sam Goody today. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but plan to soon. I don't know if you remember me, but I was a student of yours in 1991, 1992. I have a lot of good memories from attending your class. Glad to see you are doing well. If you get a chance feel free to check out my blog as well.

Hey Mr. Mitchell! I listened to your tracks and I think they are great. There are so many aspects to teachers that students never know, I can say it was a pleasure to find out one of yours. Don't ever stop!

Jim Whiting - May 20, 2005, 11:06 am
Hi Chrys!
S'been a while since I wrote you last and I just wanted to make contact. I hope you are well in great spirits. On behalf of all the Baltimore crew, we send love and greetings! Take care.

Fran Kondorf - April 16, 2005, 12:34 pm
Chrys- Thank you for all of your help. Our retirement home show was spiritually rewarding in a way I'd nearly forgotten. I'm looking forward to our next trip to Iowa. Drop me a line when you get the chance. f

Nic Arp - March 17, 2005, 4:15 pm
Hi, Chrys--

I'm Nic Arp--we played a show together at the Mill in Iowa City in December. I'm looking to start playing out of town a bit, and I was wondering if you might be able to recommend some good places in eastern Iowa; I'm not looking for money, necessarily, just places to play for now.

I remember you mentioned Brewed Awakenings and Blue Strawberry in CR, and I'm contacting them--any others you'd recommend?

Also, if you ever need someone to share a booking with you, let me know.

Thanks much and take care--

Stewart McCoy - February 19, 2005, 10:34 am
Yes, you do teach at Kirkwood, but not music; you're an English instructor, which is definitely better than blue-collar or corporate work.

And, cheers to climbing!

Stewart McCoy - February 19, 2005, 10:29 am

Joel Whitehouse - August 22, 2004, 7:55 pm
Hi Chrys - Cool website! I guess I'll be seeing you around Kirkwood this fall. Keep up the hackey sack man - you're pretty good!

Diana Whytock - January 16, 2004, 5:23 pm
Hi Chrys. I did a vain little search with my name in it and found your post about my music (I am assuming it's me, how funny if it isn't). I am so inspired and grateful for having found it. Please contact me, I would love to hear your stuff. I am going to try to get to a computer with sound (I am public internet only at the moment) on the 19th to catch the broadcast. I am moving to San Diego, CA from my hometown Big Bear Lake, CA soon and hope to sing for money. I have a couple of contacts in the jazz world down there (me sing jazz? hell yes.) so I'm gonna try it out.

Again, I appreciate your words. Please email me if you have the time. I hope you have a wonderful new year!

Sincerely, Diana

Tami Palumbo - December 8, 2003, 6:08 pm
Hi Chrys, congratulations on your success! I was a student of yours a few years back at Kirkwood and I remembered you telling me about your love of singing and I stumbled upon all of this while surfing the net tonight. You made an impact on me in class and I've never forgotten you. I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you that. I also ordered both your CDs. The samples I heard were terrific. I wish you the best with your endeavors. I hope to be able to make one of your performance soon.

Melissa Ziemer - October 20, 2003, 12:00 pm
